Last night we did check out of the Airbnb early, thinking it would be a breeze for Henry to sleep and us drive. He didn't fall asleep until 9, woke at 10 and then again about half 11, just before we were planning to stop for the night. Lots of tears later we all climbed into bed and slept at the services until 6am when Henry wanted to play 😴.
If you think travelling and seeing the world is amazing, there's plenty of toddler shaped challenges to go with it!
We had a slow morning hanging out in the van (still at the services), having breakfast and seeing how many visits to the free toilets we could make without feeling really guilty. We finally got on the road again about half 9, to do the final 30 minute drive to Centre Parcs.
After a bit of a mooch, a long look at the fish and a stop at the toy shop we grabbed a burger and then found a foxy shaped playground. Henry's favourite!
The boy then needed a nap so we retreated to the campervan for a cuppa and snooze while waiting to get into our accommodation.
Thoughts from today:
> Fuel at the German service station is stupidly expensive - €2.18 🤯. If you need to stop there, splash and dash only!
> What is it with Europeans and lumpy pillows in pillow cases the size of duvet covers 🤷. The pillows in the Airbnb were awful. Slightly better at Centre Parcs but thank god we have our own in the campervan.
> So far, Centre Parcs Germany feels very similar to the UK. Apart for most people seemingly ignoring the no cars by your lodge rule 🙄.
> Feeling very thankful for having the campervan with us. Makes life so much easier than travelling in a car.
> Might manage to get a proper dinner some day soon. Bedtime battles have taken over and for now we're used to not eating.
> Got some German tips from the father in law "woollen sie spielen zuamen " would you like to play, for the next time a little kid comes over to Henry. Must practice!
